Abstract

Modelling characteristics in the cascaded arc channel under LTE and two-temperature approximations has shown that each of these models has its own area of application. Reabsorption of radiation and transfer processes promote the establishment of LTE. Taking radiative transfer into account leads to better quantitive agreement with experimental results.
