Abstract

The importance of process planning for improving productivity in printed circuit card assembly has been identified by researchers and practitioners. This paper briefly describes process planning in printed circuit card assembly systems, outlines the major issues in setup management, summarizes the current research in this area, and illustrates the impact of setup management decisions through case study results.
