Abstract

A simplified version of collocated grid system is proposed, which is characterized by adopting the momentum interpolation only for the discretization of mass conservation equation, while the interface velocity used for determining the discretization coefficient is obtained by linear interpolation. To eliminate the effect of the underrelaxation factor on the numerical results, it is suggested that the value of the underrelaxation factor resume to 1 in the computation of momentum interpolation. Three cases are computed and the results are compared with the existing literature, showing the feasibility of the proposed methods.
