THE OTHER ASPECT OF LAND-SURFACE HETEROGENEITY AND IT'S POTENTIAL IMPACT

Abstract

In this study, we have explored another aspect of surface heterogeneity. This aspect is the time lag of maximum Evapotranspiration (ET) rates between different land-surface types. We have analyzed ET data; from the field experiment conducted near Sidney, Montana-USA. Our analysis shows that ET rates from different surface types not only differ significantly but also maximum ET rates are on the order of an hour different.
