Abstract

The design of an ICP torch is studied with a cold model and an original flow visualization technique. This allows to check with accuracy the geometry of the gas injection system, for different combinations of injection modes (simple jet, multi-jet, swirling) in Thermal Plasma Processes. Basic observations are made on the topology and the stability of the flow field in the torch.
