MODELING OF TRANSIENT PROCESSES IN CHANNEL-TYPE REACTORS

Abstract

A brief overwiev of the modelling of transients in channel-type reactors using the state-of-the-art codes are presented. Analytical basis and specific phenomena related to the modeling of the transient processes in the channel-type water-graphite boiling RBMK reactors are discussed. Results of validation of the developed RELAP5 Ignalina NPP both against integral and separate effect data arc presented. Examples of the applications of the developed models for analyses of transients are given.
