Abstract

The self-absorption phenomenon was taken into account while simulating integrated radiation of an carbon arc plasma, in relation to the Swan band, d 3Πg → a 3Πu (0−0), emitted by C2 radical. The simulation was performed assuming radial distributions of temperature and carbon partial pressure in the arc under LTE conditions.
