Abstract

Metallic species are commonly used as catalyst during combustion process and have consequences for environment. In this paper, an emerging elementary analysis (The TRELIBS technique or Time Resolved Laser Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy) method was used for a rapid quantification of metallic species contained in diesel particles (10−3 s) without any sample preparation. In a second step, we have used the Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) technique in order to characterize the structure of organo-metallic species with paramagnetic properties. The comparison of results obtain by TRELIBS and ESR give us the nature of the metal in the organo-metallic species.
