    ABSTRACT

Network intrusion detection systems have been applied since long ago as one of the required information system defense lines. For a quarter of a century, foreign countries have used methods, developed and operated network facilities for detecting attempts of unauthorized intrusions through inter-network defense systems. The Russian market offers a wide variety of commercial intrusion detection systems (IDSs) of foreign companies (ISS RealSecure, NetPatrol, Snort, Cisco, etc.); however, it does not offer, in fact, Russian developments. This is caused by the fact that many domestic researchers implement IDSs, preserving analogs of architectures and typical solutions of already known systems. This article analyzes the disadvantages of such solutions and technical features of the methods used for their elimination.
