Tarapov ABSTRACT Impedance measurements as a function of the applied magnetic field in various magnetic nanostructures were performed at X-band frequency range using a special experimental technique which is based on a simultaneous detection of absorption and dispersion. The response of the rectangular cavity with a sample under study in a polar representation (Smith chart) of the complex reflection coefficient is discussed. The numerical calculation of the complex impedance as a function of the magnetic field for various magnetic structures in a vicinity of Electron Spin Resonance effect (ESR) and Giant Magneto-Impedance effect (GMI) has been made. The possibility of partition of ESR effect and GMI effect using Smith chart is shown.
