Konushenko ABSTRACT Oscillations in open resonators formed by confocal cylindrical mirrors from materials with finite conductivity are considered. Expressions for spectrum, Q-factor of the resonator, field distribution in the resonance volume and density of the quazisurface current on the mirrors are obtained and numerically calculated for the resonators with single and multilayered coatings of mirrors from normal and superconducting materials. Experimental investigations of such resonators in the millimeter wave band were made.
