    ABSTRACT

    A hollow cathode with abnormal secondary emission (Malter effect) is applied in terahertz-band gas HCN laser. Stable laser generation is obtained with the discharge gap of 0.8 m and with the voltage and current values of 660 V and 0.5 A respectively. The cathode temperature was +20°C.
