    ABSTRACT

New results of the investigations of the influence of the rectenna exciting-field non-uniformity on its resulting efficiency are represented. The efficiencies of two variants of wireless power transmission (WPT) systems which differ in the form of the amplitude exciting-field distribution of the rectenna are compared. At the first variant the amplitude distribution is an optimal Gaussian one over the incident beam cross section and at the second variant it approaches as much as possible close to a uniform one. For such comparison the exciting field focused by a transmitting antenna has been found as a result of solving the synthesis problem. Antenna and rectenna radii as well as a power transmission band are prescribed. It is shown that in practice the second variant of the WPT system is more preferable that allows us to simplify significantly the rectenna design.
