Yakovenko ABSTRACT The resonance interaction of the Rayleigh wave and a surface helicon, which propagate along a vacuum - solid-state plasma interface in the presence of a high magnetic field, is investigated. The obtained results have made possible to excite a surface sound waves with the help of a magnetic dipole placed near the conductor surface. The expression for the collisionless decrement of the Rayleigh wave as a result of its interaction with bulk helicons, is written. It has been shown that at low temperatures this damping mechanism dominates over usual collision damping of a surface sound waves.
