Topkov ABSTRACT A technique is suggested for obtaining uniform intensity distributions of the non-Gaussian light beams in quasi-optical resonant cavities formed of waveguide sections. The technique is based on coherent summation of transverse guided modes through variation of the radius of curvature in one of the reflectors. The eigen function expansion is used to develop a theoretical model and calculation algorithm for characteristics of the fundamental mode with a uniformly distributed intensity at the output mirror of the resonator. The existence conditions of the mode under discussion and the stability of its characteristics are analyzed in dependence on parameters of the spherical reflector.
