    ABSTRACT

In the paper space-time ambiguity matrices (STAM) are investigated. Use of STAM allows analyzing space-time signal processing in polarimetric radar, in particular, defining resolutions in both spatial and time domains and their interrelations. Mathematical expressions of STAM for different types of apertures and sounding signals are derived in the paper. The expressions are used for investigating space- time selectivity of airborne sideways-looking synthetic aperture radar (SAR).
