    ABSTRACT

    The operator method has been applied to investigate radiation characteristics of two-element phased array whose base cell consists of two rectangular waveguides with mutually orthogonal walls. It is shown that the scan sector of the main lobe is increased significantly as compared with the phased array composed of base cells with parallel orientation of the waveguides. The radiation intensity within the scan sector remains practically unchanged. Polarization characteristics have been calculated. The results show that the phased array with mutually perpendicular waveguide channels can form the radiating both the left and right-hand polarized electromagnetic waves.
