ABSTRACT
The nonlinear analysis of electron-beam amplification of a wide packet of monochromatic electromagnetic waves in the slow-wave structure with a wide linear dispersion range is carried out. The slow-wave structure is a coaxial transmission line with disks at internal and external conductors. Distribution of the electric field amplitudes averaged over the structure cross-section has been investigated as a function of the longitudinal structure coordinate. The dependence of the characteristic maximum values of waves excited in the slow-wave structure on the electron beam energy is found. It is shown, that in the slow-wave structure an output signal spectrum can be controlled by changing the electron beam power. At some energy values the greatest simultaneous amplification of all waves is reached with certain value of the structure length (the optimal amplification mode), and at other energy values the total power of an output signal has a maximum value (maximum efficiency), but its spectrum is determined by the low number of monochromatic oscillations.
