Lomonosov ABSTRACT Computer simulation practical results of compressing some classes of images are presented. Before encoding the image is separated into two parts: objects and background. The image separation is carried out in a plain of wavelet-coefficients. The encoding of each component of image is performed separately with different degree of accuracy based on JPEG-technologies by a generalized Fourier transform (discrete cosine transform − DCT) and also applying multi-scale processing of wavelet-coefficients.
