    ABSTRACT

It has been shown that under conditions of the water diversion tunnel the maximal biomass of the majority of abundant fouling species (attached or having sedentary mode of life) is confined to sites of greatest hydrodynamic distortion of the water flow, such as eddy zones, areas of local concentration of shearing stress etc. Thus, there is observed a distinct differentiation of different species relative to a degree of this distortion, and the role of passive settling (sedimentation) is obvious in formation of the distribution of some abundant fouling species.
