Nitrogen excretion rates were measured Mnemiopsis leidyi individuals varied in sizes. Measurements were made every month of the year on newly caught individuals and those that starved several days over a temperature range of 7 to 24.5°C. The excretion rate expressed by a power function of animal's dry weight was very sensitive to temperature (Q₁₀ = 2.2-5.0). The O/N ratio and minimum food ration were calculated.
