Grubinko ABSTRACT It has been found that the balance in the glutamate dehydrogenase reaction in the blue-green alga (cyanobacteria) Anabaena cylindrical is shifted towards amination under the influence of lead ions. It is confirmed by higher activity of NADPH-dependent form of enzyme as compared to the activity of NADH-dependent form. Glutamine synthetase activity is inhibited in algal cells by both Pb2+ ions and glutamine produced.
