Relationship between resting, dead, and multiplying cells in the model population of Scenedesmus quadricauda (Turp.) Bréb. under normal conditions and under the influence of CuCl₂ (0.0001−1 mg Cu²⁺/L) was determined by the method of separate cultivation of the alga cenobia. At all the studied concentrations of CuCl₂, the numbers of algae cells decreased, which may be related not only to their dying away, but also to the inhibition of their regeneration.
