    ABSTRACT

Comprehensive studies on the Kenti-Kento lake-river system (Kareliya) subjected to the long-term influence of sewage of the Kostomuksha Mining Complex made it possible to reveal changes in the functional and structural parameters of the main trophic links of the biota in terms of the gradient of its contamination. Data on the functional state of the fish fauna are rather reliable in evaluating and predicting the influence of sewage of the iron-ore industry on aquatic ecosystems.
