Possible causes of the population outbreak of the three-spined stickleback Gasterosteus aculeatus aculeatus, form trachurus, in the Middle Dniester were studied. There have been determined the peculiarities of the natural reproduction, morphological and biological parameters of this fish spawned under the conditions of the buffer storage of the Dniester hydro power plant and in the river downstream from the dam.
