    ABSTRACT

The results of experimental studies on metal migration in the "bottom sediments - water" system under aerobic and anaerobic conditions and at the various concentrations of humic acids (HA) presented in natural water are discussed. It is shown that migration of metals essentially increases under conditions of deficiency of dissolved oxygen. Manganese is the most sensitive element to changes in conditions at the interface of solid and liquid phases. The output of Nu (II), Zn (II), Pb (II), and Cr (III) from the bottom sediments into contacting water is much lower than that of manganese and depends on migration ability of organic substances, to which they are bound in complexes. The presence of HA in water promotes increase in metal migration from bottom sediments owing to formation of O2 deficiency and complexation.
