Zooplankton of the Desna river was studied in 1986-2001. The obtained data on the structural indices of zooplankton of the main riverbed, including its species composition, numbers, biomass, and saprobity, were compared with those obtained by other researches in the 1930s and 1960s. The influence of some natural and anthropic factors on the formation of zooplankton structure was elucidated. Modern state of the Desna river was assessed in terms of zooplankton indices.
