The structure of phytoplankton was studied in various water bodies of Kiev. They included the lakes genetically connected with the floodplain of the Dnieper river, landscape water bodies, and former fish ponds. The studied water bodies essentially differed in the species composition and in the quantitative indices of development of phytoplankton.
