Lushchak ABSTRACT The mass-size structure of a mussel population (Mytilus galloprovincialis L.) from collectors (hydro-biotechnical constructions) located in Karadag (Eastern Crimea) was studied. Individual peculiarities of collectors' overgrown, the increase in biomass, shell mass, body mass, and population's age structure depended on the duration of exposure of collectors in the sea. Two well-expressed peaks, characterizing the increase in the total mass of mussels, were determined; on that base, the optimal harvesting dates were recommended.
