Phytoplankton communities characterized by the absence of Bacillariophyta were registered in the studied water bodies located in the vicinity of the "Medvezhye" Gas Deposit in the Western Siberia. Most of the found species belonged to stenobiotic organisms. The same pattern was registered in the Belaya river heavily polluted by sewage.
