An Assessment of the Functional State of Fishes by the Ratios Characterizing Metabolic Processes

ABSTRACT

A method for estimation of the functional state of fishes is proposed. This estimation is based on quantitative ratios between different metabolic processes such as the values of plastic and functional metabolism and the energy of assimilated food. The analysis of quantitative ratios and their application in biotesting of the aquatic environment quality are discussed.
