Kuznetsov ABSTRACT Using the many-scales method, the system of equations of the hydromechanics of a fluidized bed, which describes stationary homogeneous expansion of the bed, is reduced to the Ginzburg–Landau nonlinear parabolic equation. The analysis incorporates disturbances in the form of periodic waves and a spectrally narrow wave packet presented as a monochromatic wave. Within the framework of the equation obtained, the influence of the fluidized-bed parameters on the appearance of nonlinear instability is investigated. The conditions for the appearance of circulating zones are analyzed.
