Pokusaev ABSTRACT The paper presents the results of experiments on interaction between a tube heated by pulses in a channel and water under pressure. At pressures up to 1.3 MPa the collapse of a steam film is shown to be accompanied by shock boiling of liquid on the heated surface and formation of the shock wave (Рmax =5-8 MPa). At a higher pressure (Р = 7 MPa), depending on the value of liquid subcooling, three types of pressure fluctuations corresponding to different structures of steam-water medium are revealed.
