Bartsch ABSTRACT The effect of porous coating on boiling heat transfer in channel, critical heat flux, heat transfer characteristics in transition and post- and dryout regions is investigated. The calculated dependences are presented. The efficiency of application of porous coating for heat transfer enhancement in vapor generating equipment is analyzed. It is shown that application of porous coating in two zones of the boiling-type evaporator allows one to increase the heat-transfer coefficient by 30%.
