Chernika ABSTRACT We present experimental results on limiting vapor contents in the 2nd-kind crisis and on critical heat fluxes in the crisis of wetting in horizontal channels with a uniform heating around the perimeter. Experiments were conducted on round stainless steel tubes with d = 6 mm at P = 6.9; 9.8; 13.7 MPa, ρω = 750, 1000, 2000 kg/(m2·sec) and X = 0.25 ..., 1.0. The degree of nonuniformity is qmax/q = 1.5. The heat carrier is chemically desalinated water. It is shown that nonuniform heating around the perimeter favors an increase in qcr of the 2nd kind and increase in the mean limiting vapor contents Xlim.
