Abashichev ABSTRACT We suggest and test a new method of determining the mean-mass temperature of vapor in a flow using the technique of two-section heating of a test section. This method allows one to determine the magnitude of vapor temperature without introducing a probe in a flow. The test section in this method is heated by two independent systems of heating. An assumption about an insignificant change in the vapor temperature in transition from one section to the other is used. To estimate the validity of the method, experiments with film boiling of liquid nitrogen in a 12 mm-diameter channel were carried out under the conditions of ascending and descending flows with simultaneous measurement of vapor quality by the method of helium indicator and calculation of vapor quality from the results of measurement of vapor temperature.
