Sadovnikov ABSTRACT The efficiency of the concept of porous cooling is checked in numerical simulation of aerodynamic heating of a wall as a result of interaction of a generated shock wave with a boundary layer developing along the surface as well as in a hypersonic flow past a blunt body. The calculated results are fitted to the available experimental data. Numerical prediction of flow and heat exchange characteristics demonstrated a substantial decrease in heat transfer when a low-intensity blowing of gas was applied in the most thermally stressed part of the wall.
