Tokareva ABSTRACT The work is devoted to testing the RKDG (Runge-Kutta-Discon-tinuous Galerkin) method for the numerical solution of gas dynamics problems and to its comparison with other well-known schemes. A comparative analysis was made between different variants of the RKDG method and also with the finite-volume Godunov-type schemes (the Lax-Friedrichs method, the CIR, HLL, and HLLC methods). The calculations performed allow one to estimate the quality of various schemes. The RKDG method has a higher order of approximation, thus ensuring a better quality of solution.
