Novikov ABSTRACT Experimental data are given on a critical heat flux and dynamics of the development of heat transfer crisis in boiling of nitrogen on the surface of a cylindrical specimen made from high-temperature super conducting (HTSC) ceramics. On the basis of an approximate analytical model estimation of the velocity of propagation of film boiling over a heat generating surface of a current carrying element is made. The results of theoretical calculations are compared with experimental data.
