Selyaninova ABSTRACT Boiling of superfluid helium on a cylindrical heater, placed inside a coaxial porous shell, under the conditions of a theoretical weightlessness is analyzed. An equation describing movement of the vapor-liquid phase interface is solved. Transfer processes on the phase interface are calculated by the methods of the molecular-kinetic theory. Movement of liquid in vapors is described by equations, taking into account special features of heat and mass transfer in superfluid helium, as well as the specifics of the structure of the shell material. Impact of structural characteristics of the porous body on the vapor film is studied. The obtained numerical data are used to compare diverse porous media.
