After reorganization of the electric power sector each control area will have to participate in the frequency regulation in the united power system or separately. Therefore, for creation of control algorithms, it is necessary to know system characteristics. The evaluation methods of power system frequency characteristics together with their faults are presented. A new method of determination of electric power system frequency characteristics and time constants is presented.
