ABSTRACT
Improving the boiling heat transfer characteristics in a micro-channel vapor generator has become an important issue because of space limitations in a fuel cell vehicle.
The effects of the wettability and fine structure of the heating surface on heat transfer characteristics in the micro-channel were evaluated experimentally. An attempt was made to deduce the mechanism that would explain how differences in surface properties influence heat transfer characteristics. Under the experimental conditions used in this study, it was confirmed that wettability affects heat transfer characteristics in the micro-channel and that an improvement in wettability leads to more efficient heat transfer.
