Kim ABSTRACT This paper describes the current and recent work on advanced technology concepts applied to air-cooled heat exchangers. The concepts are applicable to: 1) automotive heat exchangers (radiators, air-conditioning condensers and evaporators, and charge-air coolers) and 2) residential air conditioning. Advances in understanding of heat transfer mechanisms and predictive models are also discussed.
