    ABSTRACT

Laser tomography and real-time holographic interferometry techniques were associated т order to investigate a laminar slot jet impinging a heatedflatplate. The experimental arrangement allowed to study the overall flow and the fluid temperature fields for various non-dimensional nozzle-to-plate distances (2 < H/e < 8) and Reynolds numbers ranging from 120 to 860. Video cameras were wed to record both dynamical and thermal visualization images. Depending on both geometrical configuration and momentum injection, two different flow regimes were observed in the free-jet region of the flow. Supplementary knowledge was gained from qualitative analysis of the interfero-gram. Fringe pattern processing were performed in order to produce fluid temperature distribution and a quantitative evaluation of the convected beat flux in the vicinity of the impingement plate was made.
