Dudeck ABSTRACT The properties of a D.C. arc plasma source operating at low electric power and with a small argon mass flow are presented. The physical description of the arc takes into account non-equilibrium conditions for the local kinetic temperatures and the ionization effect. Plasma properties are computed in the framework of a Navier-Stokes modeling and they are analyzed for different arc-jet operating conditions. Attention is focused on plasma parameters involved in non-equilibrium state.
