ABSTRACT
The modeling of chemical system vaporization at high temperatures is based on the calculation of system composition by free enthalpy minimization, coupled with the mass transfer equation at the reactional interface. This work presents a new method of coupling, based on fixing the equivalent partial pressure of oxygen, between the mass transfer equation and the equations characterizing the complex balance. The equations describing this new coupling method can be used in all codes which simulate the vaporization of elements present in chemical systems formed by oxides during their treatment at high temperatures. The results of applying this coupling technique, through a computer code, to the case of vitrification of an oxide system (fly ashes) by arc transferred plasma are compared to the experimental measurements.
