ABSTRACT
Results of a study of decomposition of several hydrocarbons (СНСl3, CCl4, С6Н5СН3 and CH4) in their mixtures with air in a microwave torch plasma are presented. Concentrations of hydrocarbons in their mixtures with air were 0.5-18 %. It was found that the microwave torch plasma fully decomposes hydrocarbons. The energy cost of decomposition of 1 mole of the hydrocarbon, as resulted from this experiment, is about a few kWh.
