    ABSTRACT

In this paper it is shown that the one-dimensional Poisson equation governing the electric field in a plasma, may yield under assumptions to an inhomogeneous Burgers equation which can be solved analytically. The solution gives rise to an elastic behaviour of the associated electric force which is naturally linked to the plasma frequency.
