Todorov ABSTRACT The development of the "FFP (Falling Film Plasma) reactor" concept by "PLASMALAB" covers mainly the manner of introduction of raw materials and the organization of the plasma arc. The new plasma torch is a combination between a hollow graphite cathode and a copper water-cooled nozzle. The next special feature of this construction is a bilateral blowing of the two plasma gas streams - through the hollow cathode and through the nozzle. This plasma torch is situated coaxially over a vertical water-cooled cylindrical reactor - anode. The anode and the cathode spots are in a continuous motion with regulated velocity by auto-electro-magnetic rotation (AEMR). The adopted type of charge introduction - through the hollow cathode, ensures maximum convective and radiating heat exchange between the disperse material and the plasma arc. The low bulk density and low fluidity are the main peculiarity of a dispersed metallurgical charge. In this work is presented the constructed "PLASMALAB" charge feeding system, special designed for FFP-plasma reactor. This feeding system consists of two main partsa sealed hopper with mechanical mixing and feeding, metering screw transporter. The mixing of the hopper and motion of the screw are hydraulic drive. The productivity of the charge feeding system depends on rotational speed of the screw. The technical parameters of the charge feeding system are presented.
