Caltagirone ABSTRACT The assessment of the consistency of a numerical method for surface tension modeling is proposed by comparison to analytical results. The first test case consists in verifying the equilibrium shape of a cylindrical drop. In the second test case, an initially square cylindrical drop oscillates under the effect of surface tension forces. The objective of the two test cases is to estimate whether the discretization error on the curvature of an interface may generate numerical parasitic currents.
